We are all aware of the importance of skin care, yet it is common for us to end the day without having carried out a facial care routine or to do so less frequently than we would like. That’s why it’s important to know which are the key steps that we shouldn’t skip and that can be done quickly and effortlessly.
The first thing to know is that in this case, optimal skin care requires us to spend time on our skin twice a day. As we will see, this takes no more than two minutes.
The first step, whatever the characteristics of our skin, is cleansing, morning and night. This is important because the skin is the first barrier that any external agent faces and on which it is deposited. In addition, it itself produces a lot of residues that we should not allow to remain on it indefinitely. In addition to this, nowadays, pollution and our lifestyle (rushing, make-up, masks…) mean that our skin is much more exposed to dirt. To meet this first requirement, it goes without saying that a simple splash of water is not enough; rinsing would only drag the dirt from one place to another, without removing it. Therefore, without a cleaner (of any kind) it is impossible to remove the dirt and do a good cleaning.
The next step in any routine is moisturising, for all skin types, morning and night. Because any skin is susceptible to dehydration. In addition, after cleansing, it is good to replenish the components of the hydrolipidic layer that we may have lost due to the detergent action of our cleanser.
The third and final requirement brings with it the good news that we only need to fulfil it in daylight. This is sun protection. We are increasingly aware that it is necessary, but we may not give it all the importance it deserves. Protecting the skin is the best way to keep it in good condition for the future.
Let’s not forget that although these three steps are essential for any skin type, the products to be used for each of them must be adapted to the skin conditions of each one. Now that we know this, it only takes a couple of minutes to get healthy, well-cared-for skin.
